Coaches- Ashley Whitenack and Sarah Pomeroy.

The Student Technology Leadership Program started in 1999 with 3 students under the leadership of Sharon Driver Muller. Our first project was a video diary of the growth of a lima bean over time. The Program Received State Gold Status in 2001. The STLP has been an active part of the Layne Elementary school for many years. We have attended many STLP Showcase Events. The STLP has always been active at Layne, even when we did not attend STLP Showcase Events.

Over the years, students have learned many technology skills and worked on many projects. Our first winning project was a Public Service Announcement on Computer Piracy in 2005. In 2006, 2 students won a Digital Art Award for their picture, titled Best Friends.

The STLP is constantly growing and changing to keep up with the newest and greatest in technology. Most recently, our students placed in the top 20 out of the entire state of Kentucky.  Their project included helping students and staff  that speak different languages communicate easier.
